As the title would suggest I am suffering from wrinkle overload. That says it all right there.
Moving on:
How do you feel about high-waisted pants? I haven't been wearing them myself (until now) and I am not sure how I feel about them. They are kind of awkward. Perhaps this is just my perception, but I find that while they keep a waist looking tiny they almost over-accentuate the hips/butt area.
What are your feelings? Have any of you been rocking the high-waisted pant/short?
PS. I didn't see this until now but Steffy from Steffy's Pros and Cons posted a Sponsor Spotlight yesterday and I'm a part of it. Thank for the shout out Steffy.

What wrinkles?
ReplyDeleteThose pants look great on you but I think that my body is not suited for them.
Or maybe is just a bug in my mind!

I am posting here my reply to you comment so that you can read it!
ReplyDelete"Hey Lydia!I also thought that you have been blogging for a long time due to the high quality of your blog!
As far as facebook is concerned it is an Italian page but I guess that they comment on people all around the world. Language is Italian and they can be really nasty sometimes. However they have the merit of criticizing some bloggers attitudes that were not meant to be for this world, such as being sponsored to review positively this or that brand etc. They also teased me but I had fun!"
XOXO
Hello Lydia, thanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog. I first learnt about that blog through the sartorialist last year and have been hooked since then. I think that is some of the best writing in the blogoshere and more people need to know about it.
ReplyDeleteAs for today's outfit, you look fabulous as always and i love those pants. Great styling and location too.

ReplyDelete@Francesca - Thanks for replying. I am sorry to hear that they were making fun of you too. How nasty of people to do this! What a great compliment - probably one of the best I have had so far! I have tried really hard to make this blog as aesthetically pleasing and professional as possible right from the beginning - thank you for your encouragement.
@Nyanzi - Thanks! Underemployed is a really great blog - I agree that the writing is so well done everyone should be reading it.

Hi Lydia, I am now following ur blog as I find it really good.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with linen trousers, but i don't like high waist too much as it wrinkles more as other models.
White linen means summer! and i feel fine wearing it in hot days!
I really like the high-waisted pants. You have a pretty silhouette with. Its very 70's.
ReplyDeleteI have one pant like that and I'm feel great in it.
Thanks for your comment. Yeah it's a tea bags) For Slavic people it's like a tradition to drink tea and for it's also a symbol of past because it's an already used tea bags)

I guess I've been around long enough to see the high waist come and go once already. Its funny what one thiks is terrible at one time and then you grow to like it as trends change. All that to say, I don't mind the look at all. What goes around comes around. what I LOVE in this post is the bracelet!
ReplyDeleteI actually love high-waisted pants, yet only have two pairs, one which have buttons on the fall front. I think they are tricky to wear but I love them here. Linen although forever wrinkles is one of my favourite materials. I love the way it drapes. Nice outfit!-xxoo

ReplyDeleteStop by my blog some time at http://stylelustpages.com!
cute trousers and I love the top! you look great!

You look amazing in high-waisted trousers! And if I've learned anything from history, it's that we women have been attempting to find ways to enhance our hips and butt areas through our clothing for centuries. Do you remember the bustle?:D Are they comfortable to wear? I just bought a highwaisted skirt so I'm going to attempt the highwaised look for the first time! xx

I would definitely wear a pair of high-waisted pants if I could find a pair, and find one that fit right. I would love a tummy hider like those! Girl, I know how you feel about the wrinkles. There are just some materials that no matter waht you do if you breath they get all wrinkly...annoying

ohhh high waisted pants. i love them. just not on me. my huge hips and thighs make this trend one i don't particularly sport well! you look great in this outfit....even with the linen wrinkles :-) hope u have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! thanks so much for all of your comments - I apologize for not replying sooner. Work has been exhausting lately so I haven't been online as much as I would have liked.
ReplyDeleteTTYL!
You've won my heart....I am an absolute linen LOVER! The more crushed, the better! This is a beautiful outfit, very elegant & classy. The shoes are perfect! As for high-waist pants....I just cannot pull them off. I've got a "Kardashian" or "j-Lo" butt....and high waists OVER exaggerate it, if that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteLovely post.
